April 6, on the main stage of NOVAT a legendary masterpiece will be presented – Hachaturyan’s ballet “Spartacus” with the choreography by Yuri Grigorovich. The main part will be performed by the Russian national artist – Ivan Vasiliev.
Yuri Gregorovich’s “Spartacus” is a triumph of a male heroic dance, that’s why the Spartacus part in this ballet is a dream of every dancer. Ivan Vasiliev played this part for the first time at the age of 19, incredibly early for a dancer. And since his debut in this character, he is still considered one of the best performers of it. Ivan Vasiliev’s Spartacus is courageous, charismatic, reckless and passionate.
The lead solo performer of NOVAT’s ballet company Mikhail Lifentsev will present one of his best impressions – Marcus Crassus, whose part is not less interesting or complex, in terms of choreography and acting skills. We expect again the dramatic identification with the satiated Roman aristocrat.
Phrygia, the tender and lyric love of Spartacus, will be performed by the Russian national artist Anna Jarova, the leading ballet dancer of the theatre. Each of her presence on stage is a piece of excellence, always highly anticipated by the Novosibirsk ballet lovers.
Crassus’s seductive concubine Aegina in Yuri Grigirovich’s ballet will be for the first time performed by Anna Germizeeva, the solo ballet performer. She had already played Aegina, but in a different “Spartacus” performance, directed by Grigiry Kovtun. The young and lively dancer has a number of passionate and vivid leading characters in her background.
