Denis Matvienko will take office of Ballet company artistic director at the Novosibirsk opera and ballet theatre becoming a successor of Igor Zelensky whose contract will end in June 2016.

Denis Matvienko has a very high reputation in the world of ballet. By all means my creative contacts with Novosibirsk will continue forever. Then as now we have a very challenging season ahead of us. I am sure that our artists can capture a high standard which Vladimir Kekhman sets for the company».

The experience that I got when I was directing ballet of the National opera of Ukraine will help me. There is one more very important aspect: I was a part of Vladimir Kekhman and Farukh Ruzimatov team when they were together starting to reform the ballet of Mikhailvosky theatre. Now along with them I can also be proud of the phenomenal achievements the world acclaimed Saint-Petersburg Company is demonstrating».
