On December 31, 2015 the Novosibirsk ballet connoisseurs will get an elegant New Year’s gift. Leading roles in The Nutcracker (choreographed by Vasily Vaynonen) will be performed by world ballet stars Natalya Osipova and Sergey Polunin.
Natalya Osipova
Since 2004 — joined the ballet company of The Bolshoy Theatre (Moscow, Russia)
Since 2011 — prima ballerina of The Mikhalovsky Theatre (St. Petersburg, Russia)
Since 2013 — prima ballerina of The Royal Ballet (London, UK)
She has performed with world’s top ballet companies including American Ballet Theatre (ABT), Bayerisches Staatsballett (Munich, Germany) and La Scala Theatre Ballet (Milano, Italy).
Sergey Polunin
Sergey started his career in The Royal Ballet (UK) at the age of 17 and after two years has become the youngest principal dancer in history of the company.
2012-2014 — principal dancer of Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Academic Music Theatre
Since 2012 — a permanent guest star of the Novosibirsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre (NOVAT)
The outstanding dancers have performed in various versions of Tchaikovsky’s ballet with different partners. NOVAT’s production of this ballet will be their first joint performance of The Nutcracker ever.
