Musical Director of NOVAT is to Head Festival in The Hermitage

October 23, 2015

Dmitry Jurowski, musical director and principal conductor of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre (NOVAT), is to head music-and-theatre festival based in the State Hermitage Museum with the Hermitage Theatre as the main venue. Artists of the Mikhailovsky Theatre as well as guest soloists will perform at the festival.

“Masterpieces presented in the halls of this great museum suggest a whole lot of ideas. And we are only to embody them”, — Dmitry Jurowski noted.

The NOVAT musical director’s official visit to the leading museum of Russia stemmed out of signing a cooperation agreement between Vladimir Kekhman and Mikhail Piotrovsky. General director of NOVAT and director of the State Hermitage Museum agreed on a long-term joint project including both full-scale performances and concert programmes.

“Hermitage is an amazing place with amazing atmosphere. It would be a great honor for us to correspond to it.” — Vladimir Kekhman said.

The first events of the project will be held in November 2015.
