NOVAT will Congratulate the Novosibirsk Choreographic School on its Anniversary

October 26, 2016

In 2016 the Novosibirsk Choreographic School celebrates its 60th anniversary. Gala-concert Grand Prix of NOVAT on December 6 is dedicated to this date.

The history of the Choreographic School is closely connected with the history of the Theatre – its first teachers were the soloists of the Novosibirsk opera and ballet theatre. It was them who laid the groundwork for Siberian ballet school. The first classes of graduates presented a whole pleiad of outstanding dancers, such as Lyubov Gershunova, Anatoly Berdyshev, Alexander Balabanov, Larisa Matyukhina-Vasilevskaya, Tatiana Kladnichkina, Vladimir Ryabov.

Concerts of the Novosibirsk State Choreographic School are being held annually on the stage of the Theatre, where future ballet artists demonstrate their skills in classical and contemporary choreography. For them it’s a very important landmark: to get an idea of difference between the grand stage and a ballet class means to make the first step to professional success. Today new opportunities appear in the relations between the leading Theatre of Siberia and the Choreographic School: NOVAT and The Novosibirsk State Choreographic School are members of the newly-formed Siberian Culture-and-Education Cluster (SCEC).

On December 6 the stage of NOVAT will host the stars of Russian ballet school, recent graduates of Choreographic School, many of whom have already occupied leading positions in ballet hierarchy, as well as students of the school. The audience will have a chance to witness all stages of the road to superlative mastery: from the first steps to virtuosic variations.

Ivan Vasilyev, Denis Matvienko, Anna Zharova, Natalia Ershova, Anna Odintsova, Anna Germizeeva, Maya Grigorieva, Ekaterina Likhova, Vera Sabantseva, Olga and Maxim Grishenkov, Evgeny Basalyuk, Mikhail Lifentsev, Mikhail Nedelsky, Roman Polkovnikov, Nikolay Maltsev will participate in the performance.
