A new Solveig – Margarita Solodova

May 19, 2017

The young dancer of NOVAT, Margarita Solodova will play Solveig in the most poetic and penetrating premiere performance of 72nd season – “Peer Gynt” on 23 May. That will be the first big work for the ballet soloist.

“Solveig part is very close and clear for me – tells Margarita Solodova – I’m touched by the all forgiving love of this character, keeping fidelity to her reckless love for years.”

It is known that the Slovenian choreographer Edward Klug payed a lot of attention to the dramatic component of the “Peer Gynt” ballet. In order to tell a simple story clear, he wanted to keep the plastique natural and comprehensible at most.

“The “Peer Gynt” choreography is unusual – notes Margarita Solodova – it differs a lot from the classical one. It has none of the poses that we’ve been studying for years. Edward Klug wanted us to make the audience understand all the feeling and emotions we perform.”

The next “Peer Gynt” performances will be held on 23 and 25 May. Tickets are available on the website and at the theatre box office.
