The 72nd theatre season will be continued by two premieres. In January the repertoire list will be enriched with The Nutcracker by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky staged by Nacho Duato. The Spanish choreographer has been working on the production in cooperation with an outstanding French set designer Gerome Kaplan. The production team transferred the action of the well-known “Christmas” ballet to pre-revolutionary Russia.
In February the premiere of Verdi’s Un ballo in Maschera staged by Vyacheslav Starodubtsev will take place. Sets and costumes will be designed by Zhanna Usacheva, light designer – Sergey Skornetsky. Spring session will follow up premiere performances of current season. That will be Romeo and Juliet choreographed by Oleg Vinogradov and Sleeping Beauty choreographed by Nacho Duato.
