NOVAT has Announced its Complete 2016 Playbill

New 72nd season will be opened on September 13 with premiere of Sergei Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet ballet production staged by Oleg Vinogradov. Season’s first opera premiere of Dmitry Belov’s director’s version of I, Son of Working People (Semyon Kotko) by Sergei Prokofiev will take place on October 14. Theatre dedicates these premieres to the composer’s 125th anniversary.

At once two new productions will be revealed to the audience in November — Laurencia ballet by Alexander Crain (choreography by Vakhtang Chabukiani, revised by Mikhail Messerer) and The Queen of Spades opera by Tchaikovsky staged by Valery Fokin.
Giuseppe Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera (A Masked Ball) opera, which will be presented amid NOVAT’s Christmas festival (artistic director — conductor Pyotr Belyakin,) and Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty ballet revised by Mikhail Messerer, where this version is specially arranged for the Novosibirsk ballet company, are among premieres scheduled for 2017.

Please note that The Nutcracker ballet will be presented as a cycle of performances during autumn and winter breaks and already in the beginning of 2017 the production will go on tour to Japan.

Ticket sales for the new season’s performances will open by April 25 at the latest.
