With Love to Old Time Music

October 27, 2016

The new season of NOVAT revives the tradition of chamber concerts in the foyer of the Theatre. The first evening of “Music for Us” cycle with participation of leading opera soloists and orchestra artists will take place on November 5. The cycle “Music for Us” exists since 2009. Concerts are mainly devoted to baroque music and classicism, music by composers of XVII-XVIII centuries determines the repertoire policy. Ensemble headed by Natalia Zhuk is striving to approximate the format of chamber concerts to old salon evenings, where listeners were learning new names and immersing themselves in their favorite music.

“The main peculiar feature of “Music for Us” concerts is maximum decreasing the distance between performers and listeners, - says Natalia Zhuk. - The title of the cycle hints that at these concerts we perform the music that is loved by ourselves. We are not limited by thematic frames: those can be pieces that are rarely performed and are hardly known by Russian audience, as well as “everlasting hits” – fadeless melodies by Vivaldi, Mozart, Handel and Purcell”.

“Music for Us” concerts: November 5, December 10, Theatre foyer, 1 p.m. Tickets are available at the Theatre box office.
