Head management of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre decided to resume the work of Scientific
and Technical Council (STC) that stopped its activities in early 1990s. The decision followed up the
initiative of the city’s engineering and creative intellectuals concerned by the technical condition of the
Theatre building, a unique landmark of national cultural heritage.
Scientifically-grounded supervision of the Theatre building maintenance and preservation, as well as
implementation of its renovation stages that had been planned before but were not accomplished, will
be the basic goal of the STC. The Council will be headed by Professor G.G. Chibryakov who was one of its first chairmen.
The structure, membership and the date of the STC session will be announced shortly.
