The Nutcracker on School Holidays

October 26, 2016

October 27, 28,29, November 1 and 2

Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s ballet The Nutcracker is one of the all-time favourites for audiences of all generations. It is both a fairy-tale and deep thoughts of growing up difficulties and concerns. Dances of windup toys, grand scale battles of mice and dolls, a huge Christmas tree that grows right before the audience's eyes – any child would dream of being a participant of those magical events and transformations. Adult spectators will appreciate expressive choreography by Vasily Vainonen, a successor of XIX century classical traditions.

One can’t but admire the complicated decorations and gorgeous costumes that were specially designed for the Novosibirsk production in Italy. Distinguished stage designers Ezio Frigerio and Franca Squarciapino are the authors of sets and costumes. Productions created by them are on in the major theatres of the world, including La Scala and Grand Opéra. Even on this level The Nutcracker outstands with its "Hollywood" scale.

Top soloists of the ballet Company: Anna Germizeeva, Olga Grishenkova, Natalia Ershova, Anna Odintsova, Vera Sabantseva, Mikhail Lifentsev, Mikhail Nedelsky, Roman Polkovnikov, are occupied in the performances.
