Vladimir Kekhman Named Musical Director-principal Conductor of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre

Dmitry Jurowski, a representative of a famous conductor dynasty, will become musical director-principal conductor of the Novosibirsk state opera and ballet theatre.

Dmitry Jurowski: «It is of utmost importance for me, a musician who was born in Russia, to apply myself to what I really love in my home country. My career was mostly associated with Europe and America but within several last seasons I had an opportunity to make sure that one can have every opportunity for major musical-theatre projects of high quality in Russia. Today Novosibirsk opera and ballet theatre is one of the most interesting and promising musical theatres of the country. It is a huge responsibility and a great honor for me to be musical director and principal conductor here. I now get to know general creative and administrative environment and conduct preparations for the forthcoming season together with Theatre director Vladimir Kekhman. So one can take that I have already begun working for the theatre».
