26th December NOVAT showed the 600th anniversary “The Nutcracker” ballet production by P. I. Tchaikovsky and the 10th premiere show of “The Nutcracker” by a Spanish choreographer Nacho Duato.
“I watched the show from the hall, so I could see the expression of delight on the kids’ and adults’ faces, there was pure magic on the stage and it felt like a fairy tale – tells the Director of NOVAT Ballet Company Denis Matvienko – I was very satisfied with all artists’ work, for the performance was kept on high professional and emotional level”.
The lead role was performed for the first time by the company’s new principal dancer Ernest Latypov. This talented dancer, winner of open national and international competitions, winner of “The Soul of the Dance” award of the Ballet magazine in the category Rising Star joined NOVAT Ballet Company in this season and has already performed lead parts in NOVAT productions “Swan Lake” and “La Bayadère”.
“Ernest Latypov is a very talented dancer, I would even say a spirited one. Nowadays, there are many artists, who “work” on the stage – they have fine skill, good leaps, and what Ernest does is dancing – told Denis Matvienko – he is a thoughtful dancer, which is rare nowadays; when we practice together I can see him working on himself. He has done his third performance with Olga Grishenkova and they make a fine couple – both of them are young, beautiful and light. The yesterday performance was particularly inspired”.
