On April 21 and 22 Giselle, ou les Wilis ballet premiered on the stage of NOVAT. The production as revised by Nikita Dolgushin is dedicated to his memory. Brilliant career of Dolgushin as a dancer started with Giselle precisely. His career as a choreographer ended with the same ballet.

«I was lucky enough to work with Nikita Dolgushin when he was a well-known dancer and it was my first year after graduation from school. Since then I always admired his mastery as a performer and his gift for interpretation. Later on, when we worked together in the Mikhailovsky theatre, I would always take his advice. He was a creative thinker and it would manifest in every way. Everything he was doing and saying was right, clever, reasonable.
Nikita Dolgushin was a talented renovator; with his interpretation of Giselle he tried to bring the production closer to the Paris premiere on the one hand, and make it interesting for today’s audience on the other hand. I am happy that this production that has been successfully embraced in Europe will now be performed in Siberia.
I am sure that the Company of the Novosibirsk theatre will give new momentum to Dolgushin’s production of great talent.»
