A challenge for ballet company

March 23, 2017

The premiere shows of a contemporary ballet "Peer Gynt" with choreography by Edward Klug are over. Henrik Ibsen's philosophic play was told in clear, comprehensible language.

"That was a challenge for our ballet company - says NOVAT's leading soloist Maxim Grishenkov, who participated in the premiere shows and moreover was the tutor for this performance - it's hard to compare "Peer Gynt" with such plays like "Swan lake" or "Sleeping beauty". For this performance, the audience will have to think about it; and the actors have to open up dramatically and psychologically. It's not only about what you can tell with your dance language, the important thing is to act and to leave the emotional message".

The next performances of "Peer Gynt" will be held on 19th and 20th of April at 19.00. Tickets are available at the theatre box office.
