Legend of American music, author of three symphonies, several choral, vocal and piano series, three ballets and two operas, he is mostly famous for creating famous Broadway musicals: “Westside story”, “On the Town” and other.

A brilliant artist, a conductor with keen sense of music, Leonard Bernstein performed an incredible number of classical and modern pieces, in 1959 he conducted Shostackovich’s “Symphony No. 5” in presence of the author. Leonard Bernstein’s own music represents a mixture of genres previously never combined: sacred hymns, jazz and country tunes, Latin American and Jewish traditional music.

Bernstein never divided music on easy and hard listening, he used to compose and conduct both of them. The main thing for him was to let people enjoy the music, that’s why Leonard Bernstein became known as an educator and promoter of academic music.
