Prisca Zeisel

Prisca Zeisel was born in Vienna. Besides her education at the Ballet School of the Vienna State Opera, she studied at the École Supérieure de danse Cannes and the Princess Grace Academy in Monte Carlo. Since 2011, she danced with the Wiener Staatsballett. In the 2016/2017 season, Prisca Zeisel joined the Bavarian State Ballet as a soloist. In March 2017, she was promoted to first soloist rank and in September 2019 to principal dancer. At the beginning of September 2023, she left the Bavarian State Ballet.

The dancer’s repertoire include roles in the ballets by Kenneth MacMillan, William Forsythe, John Neumeier, Jerome Robbins, and George Balanchine. Her roles with the Bavarian Ballet included: Aegina in “Spartacus” by Yury Grigorovich, Nikiya, Gamzatti in “La Bayadere” by Patrice Bart, Myrthe in “Giselle” by Peter Wright, Carmen in “Carmen” by Tomaž Rode, Raymonda in Ray Barra’s production, Betsy in Christian Spuck’s “Anna Karenina”, The Queen of the Dryads in “Don Quixote” by Rudolf Nureyev among many others.

In season 2023/24, she joined the Mikhailovsky Ballet Company as principal dancer.
