Ivan Vasiliev: I love Novosibirsk stage

World ballet star, Honored Artist of Russia Ivan Vasiliev is back to perform at the Novosibirsk opera and ballet theatre venue. The outstanding dancer is going to perform his landmark parts at NOVAT: in November he will star as Spartacus of Yury Grigorovich’s legendary ballet and later in December he will present Basilio of “Don Quixote”.

Ivan Vasiliev comes to Sibir quite often. He never hid his particular attitude to the Novosibirsk theatre: A significant part of my professional life is connected to this theatre and coming here is pure pleasure and joy. It’s one of the venues, where I feel totally comfortable. I am familiar with local ballet company, I have friends here. This immense stage fits me well – I love these scopes, it’s just my thing”.

The Novosibirsk audience had a chance to get acquainted with Vasiliev’s choreographer side in May 2017. At the day the Theatre was celebrating its birthday Ivan Vasiliev presented his one-act ballet “Love is everywhere” as a part of his gala concert; he also presented some dance items of his own original choreography along with the Russian ballet stars. Ivan promised to present more of his original choreography to the Novosibirsk audience. “I’m currently preparing one project – a “triad” of one-act ballets. It is set to premiere in Moscow, but I hope I will be able to present this work in Novosibirsk also. I promise I will invite my friends to perform in NOVAT. I have a number of associates in a ballet world, guys ready to follow me and participate in my projects. So let’s work, dance and cooperate”.
