Karen Durgaryan Conducts Novosibirsk Performances For The First Time

For the 1st time Karen Durgaryan is to conduct opera and ballet performances in Novosibirsk

On the day of the opening the 71st season of the Novosibirsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre Karen Durgaryan will be behind the conductor’s stand. «Spartacus» on November 13, 14, 15 will be conducted by a famous maestro from Armenia. «The Flames of Paris» will be the next project where Durgaryan will take part as a guest-musical director and conductor. Preparations for premiere are under way now. The premiere performances are scheduled for November 19, 20, 21.

An honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia Karen Durgaryan is a graduate of the Yerevan State Musical Conservatory. His internship was in the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory with Professor Ilya Musin. Beginning with 2001 he has been the chief conductor of the Armenian National State Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2008 he started to cooperate with the Mikhailovsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg, he conducted the performances and symphony concerts in Great Britain and Japan. Karen Durgaryan is a frequent guest-conductor in The Mariinsky Opera and Ballet Theatre. He also cooperates closely with the Tatar state Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre and the O. T. Theater in Rotterdam (the Netherlands). The audiences from a lot of European Countries, particularly Italy, are familiar with the art of Armenian conductor. He conducted performances and concert programs in Turin, Genoa, Cagliari, Ravenna. Durgaryan regularly has performances with the Sicilian symphony orchestra in Palermo; in 2012 he debuted with a famous orchestra in Padova and Veneto.
