Exhibition dedicated to NOVAT’s 75th anniversary to open at historic park “Russia – My History”

January 22, 2020

Historical park Russia – My History and Novosibirsk state academic opera and ballet theatre (NOVAT) signed a cooperation agreement. Under this agreement parties plan on creating a number of projects aimed at preservation and promotion of cultural and historical heritage of Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk region.

The main event under this agreement is going to be a massive digital exposition dedicated to the establishment of one of the biggest theatres of our country.

As it is commonly known, in 2020 Novosibirsk opera and ballet theatre celebrates 75th anniversary. The biggest theatre building in Russia had been built during pre-war times, and later during the war it acted as a strong room for various cultural values evacuated eastwards. The list included masterpieces from the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Artillery Museum and other palaces and museums of Leningrad Oblast.

The theatre is a contemporary of the Great Victory, thus having a vivid history. The first performance, Glinka’s Ivan Susanin took place on May 12th 1945; on that day the theatre met its first audience.

The history of the Novosibirsk opera and ballet theatre definitely represents a crucial part of our region’s history. Performances and concerts reflecting main events of our fatherland history have been embellishing the theatre’s repertoire throughout its artistic life.

Modern technologies and solutions of the Historical park Russia – My History will let you enjoy the unique insights from the theatre’s archives and look at the great history of our fatherland in a new eclectic way, including the images materialized on the stage of the Novosibirsk opera and ballet theatre.
