Adrian Mitchell was born in Texas. He started his professional ballet training at the Westside School of Ballet in Los Angeles under Yury Grigoriev, and then moved to New York to study under Gelsey Kirkland. In 2014–2015, he studied at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St Petersburg. In 2015, he joined the Mikhailovsky Ballet Company.
