Nikita Ksenofontov –Moscow Ballet Competition winner

The soloist of NOVAT’s ballet company Nikita Ksenofontov recently has won the XIII International Ballet Dancers and Choreographers competition in Moscow. The jury directed by Yury Grigorovich, the National Artist of the USSR presented the young artist, who captured the Novosibirsk audience with his bright and vivid performances with a “male/duet” diploma.

“The diploma of this international competition is a very important achievement – tells the dancer’s coach Maksim Grishenkov – Nikita managed to present both dance technique and artistic”.

The young dancer admitted that the competition for the diploma was tight. “That was hard, but that was also fun! – tells Nikita. – There were many strong contestants from Asian countries – Korea, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, and only two diplomas”.



During the XIII International Ballet Dancers and Choreographers competition Nikita has performed well-known parts from the ballets “Le Corsair” and “Flames of Paris” as well as the new material – pas-de-deux from the ”Coppelia” ballet, which he performed with NOVAT’s soloist Ekaterina Likhovaya.

“We chose the pas-de-deux from “Coppelia” on purpose, to show Nikita’s versatility – noted Maksim Grishenkov – the variations from “Le Corsair” and “Flames of Paris” describes perfectly his temper and specialty. We also wanted to mention that he not only a great stunt man, but a romantic artist capable of performing all sort of emotions”.
