In 1979 Vyacheslav graduated from M. I. Glinka Novosibirsk State Conservatory, then since 1985 he has been working at the Novosibirsk theatre. In 1994 he was invited to German and Italy as a Stage Chorus Master for Boris Godunov (The Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe) and Aida (Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville); he has worked multiple times with choral ensembles from Korea (master classes, concerts 2007, 2009). He prepared a lot of shows with the theatre chorus and student chorus of M. I. Glinka NSC. Choral performances were several times awarded by the Novosibirsk department of Theatre Union of the Russian Federation.

Since 2004 to 2011 he has been heading the big chorus based chamber chorus New Siberian Singers, which has proved itself by excellent performances in Russia and abroad. Under the baton of V. Podyelsky the chorus took part in the Festival of Russian Culture in London, the International Art Festival in Athens, the Territory Contemporary Art Festival, the Moscow Easter Festival, also took part in recordings for Alpha Record Company. In February 2010 the chorus took part in the First International Festival MusicAeterna, dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the Chamber Chorus and the Chamber Orchestra of the theatre; at that festival the following pieces were performed: Handels Dixit Dominus, Henry Purcells Dido and Aeneas and Mozarts Requiem.

As a Stage Chorus Master he has prepared more than 50 performances within the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet theatre: Boris Godunov, Mussorgskys Khovanshchina (1990, 1995), Verdis Nabucco (with Bulgarian Varna Opera Theatre), Rubins Kashtanka (1989), Shostakovichs Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District (1997, 2007), Kobekins Young David (world premiere, 1998), Dargomyzhskys Rusalka, Tchaikovskys The Queen of Spades, Eugene Onegin, Bizets Carmen (2001), Puccinis La bohème (1997), Verdis Rigoletto (2002), Aida (2005), Schnittkes "Life with an Idiot" (2003), Verdis Macbeth (coproduction with Opéra National de Paris, 2008), the Novosibirsk premiere of Russian choral opera by R. Shchedrin Boyarinya Morozova (2009), Borodins Prince Igor, Charles Gounods Faust (2012), Stravinskys Les Noces (2013), Verdis La Traviata (2014), Wagners Tannhäuser (2014), Mussorgskys Boris Godunov (2015), Puccinis Turandot (2016) and other. In this post he also prepared the Russian rendition of Brittens War Requiem with musicians from Russia and Great Britain (2013), Desyatnikovs The Rite of Winter 1949 (2014) and other.

He was awarded with a prize Chorus Master of the Year by the professional musical newspaper Muzykalnoye Obozrenie (2009). In 2013 Vyacheslav Podyelsky was awarded with the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", II class for developing art and culture of homeland and longstanding successful work.
